2052.0. "Error activating image oafc$client_shr.exe" by KERNEL::OTHENJ () Fri Jan 08 1993 17:14
Hello,
ALL-IN-1 v3.0
When the customer rebooted one of his machines, he received the
error
error activating image oafc$client_shr.exe
sharable images must be installed to run privileged image
when a1v30start.com is run. When he tried running the .com file
interactively after reboot, the same problem occured, and the only way he
could get around this was by installing the image prior to running the
startup. This means that ALL-IN-1 starts up correctly, but he does not
understand why this change is needed.
By tracing through the startup, we found that the error occured at the
point run_a1_remove when alli/noinit/override=shutdown is called, which is
actually before the file cab server is started up.
The customer does not have a a1v30_site_start.com, and I have checked out
his a1config.dat and a1v30start.com, and both look correct.
The only difference on this system is that they have an asset called
DCA/RFT ALL-IN-1 handler, but he said that there is no mention of this
altering the file cab server executables on installation. As we do not
support this product here, the customer is going back to the local branch
to see if he can find any reason why this would happen. Does anyone here
have any ideas?
The customer has also tried relinking, but this did not help
Thanks,
Julie

Hope you don't mind, but I moved 2052.1 onto its own note (2058.0)
as I considered it to be a seperate problem and it gets confusing
if we have two discussions on the same basenote.

Paul

2052.3 | Haven't seen the problem in the base note | AIMTEC::WICKS_A | A year behind in more ways than one | Mon Jan 11 1993 23:48 | 15 |
| Julie,
Assuming that the customer has the v3.0 version of the DCA/RFT thingy
do you see any references in it to DASL or MCC or anything that the FCS
itself calls - just guessing as usual.
I'd be surprised if this error was being caused by the DCA/RFT DSAB but have
you thought of contacting the European ASSETS library. Being in the U.S
I don't have a copy of this to test for you.
