2030.0. "OA$SCRIPT Queues on a Cluster?" by VNABRW::EHRLICH_K (Screaming for vengeance) Mon Jan 04 1993 09:58

Hi

first I wish y'all the Best for this New Year, too.

During these holidays we decided to change our CSC-Cluster becoming a
real cluster with a clusteralias. Last months ALL-IN-1 was only running
on a node of this cluster because of Message Router, esp. DDS.

Now we're running (fine) on each bootmember MR,A1MAIL and ALL-IN-1 V3.0.
I've build a clusterwide (generic) ALLIN1$BATCH Queue for Sender/Fetcher
/Housekeepings... The same thing happend with the OA$FORMATTER Queue.
FCS is running without problems - after relinking ALL-IN-1 -, too.

But I've only a question about the OA$SCRIPT_GERMAN Queue. Shouldn't it
work like the OA$FORMATTER Queue??? Having one Generic Queue and several
Execution Queues for each Node ALL-IN-1 is running. The only thing I'Ve
found that you can have more Script Queues, but after starting ALL-IN-1
there're running always on the first node.

    Generic server queue OA$SCRIPT_GERMAN
    /GENERIC=(OA$SCRIPT_GERMAN_1,OA$SCRIPT_GERMAN_2)

Server queue OA$SCRIPT_GERMAN_1, stopped, on VNOTSC::
Server queue OA$SCRIPT_GERMAN_2, stopped, on VNOTSC::

Can you give me light in the darkness ???

Best regards and many thanks in advance

The command procedure OA$LIB:SCRIPT_QUEUES_INIT.COM that starts the
Script symbiont queue has lots of bits to enable you to have a generic
queue that feeds more than one queue on the same or different nodes.
You can choose how many queues you want and where they run based on your
    configuration and workload.

It's just defaulted to only have one in the shipped version of the file
by putting an "exit" near the beginning!
