2027.0. "v3.0 delete user" by MSAM02::SOWWAN () Wed Dec 30 1992 08:59

    Hi,
I have 2 questions here regarding V3.0 delete user problem.

    1) The given Star workaround had been tried by my customer and the
customer claimed that the user deletion didn't work, instead the
Administrator's OA directory got deleted ! (He found this out by doing
SHOW DEVICES/FILES while the job was running) Anybody experienced this?

    2) I understand that there is another delete user problem which is due
to the RESERVED documents. How do I tell if a loop is caused by the
RESERVED documents or the Spell Check ?

    	Thanks!
    Regards.

    sunil,

this is the extremely well known (and partly fixed in v3.0-1) problem
with DELETE USER looping in v3.0 on either
    a) system wide dictionaries (i.e GROUP and CORPORATE)
    b) any other non-deletable document in the users file-cabinet
    c) RESERVED documents
normally i'd use STARS to tell you all the other note numbers the
discuss this by I can't at the moment - look for a low numbered note
with lots of replies or search for notes by Faith donohue

    sowwan,

we certainly tested the STARs article out extensively here and it did
indeed fix the reported problems (except c). I understand the article
has been updated recently to indicate that part a (and maybe part b)
were fixed by the release of v3.0-1 and I would guess that it has also
been updated to indicate any possible workaround for part c which
    is not fixed by v3.0-1

    regards,
