2014.0. "ALL-IN-1 UPGRADE PROBLEM- BADPROFILE" by NEWVAX::SHEINBERG (Reda,COP,DTN:339-5387) Wed Dec 23 1992 21:35

    I have a problem with a V2.3 to V3.0 upgrade on a customer's test
    system. After I completed the upgrade successfully I get the following
    error:

    $ALLIN1/USER=MANAGER

    OA-F-BADPROFILE, Error opening user profile file, record size mismatch.

    Any clues or direction.

2014.1Did you customise PROFIL ?GIDDAY::SETHIMan from DownunderWed Dec 23 1992 22:1216
    Hi,

    Was the PROFIL form customised and the size of the PROFILE.DAT changed ?
    If so had you replaced the original profile back in OA$DATA before
    doing an upgrade ?

    Did the A1$POSTINSTALL procedure run successfully ? If not what was
    the error message and do you have a V23_PROFILE.DAT in OA$DATA_SHARE ?
    Use the /NOCUSTOM qualifier and remove any of the elements that
    conflict from the live area. You do not have to re-install ALL-IN-1
    3.0 again but the post-installation command procedure must run
    successfully (OA$LIB:A1$POSTINSTALL.COM) before you can use ALL-IN-1.

    Regards,

    Also look for a PROFILE.FDL file somewhere in OA$LIB or SITE
    directories.

    Loads of other notes here about this problem.

2014.3Think this one is in STARSAIMTEC::WICKS_AA year behind in more ways than oneWed Jan 06 1993 04:319
    Reda,

    The Site elements report from the CART will tell you about things
    like a PROFILE.FDL in OA$SITE_LIB_SHARE. I know there are STARS
    articles on this one (and one on one of the TM FDls - MEETING?)

    regards,
