2010.0. "CLOSE MAIL AREA" by SWTHOM::GODARD () Wed Dec 23 1992 09:20

    Question on CLOSING MAIL AREA (CL)

    ALL-IN-1 V2.4

    If I closed one mail area without make the BALANCE MAIL AREA, my
    profile point on this mail area closed and I can without any problem
    create and send mails.

    I checked the location of the mail's pointer : In the OA$DAF_E.DAT
    which is closed.

    Nothing about this in TIMA STARS or in the notesfile

    Thanks for explanation

    Hi Monique,

    As I understand it your mail area will continue to be written to until
    you've used BMA to point users at your open mail area(s).

    V3 recognises this and has mail area status's of

    	OPEN
    	OPENING
    	CLOSED
    	CLOSING

    OPENING and CLOSING signify exactly the situation that you've reported
    and become OPEN and CLOSED respectivly after BMA has been run.

2010.2It's the field in PROFIL which controls the codeIOSG::SHOVEDave Shove -- REO2-G/M6Wed Dec 23 1992 15:578
    That's right.

    The actual code in EM simply uses the Mail Area field in your profile
    (PROFIL.MAIL$AREA) to decide whre to put the files. Closing a mail area
    doesn't change this field - you need to run BMA to do this (or,
    obviously, change it by hand).

    Dave.
