2000.0. "US SPD sets DELETED flag to "Y"" by KAOFS::R_OBAS () Mon Dec 21 1992 17:45

    Hello,

      I have a customer problem (reproducible in their system not in
    our system).
    Any user who do a "US SPD", then NEXT SCREEN and press return twice
    without actually changing anything. Go to MAD and select the record
    of same user, the DELETED flag is now set to "Y". I set it to "N"
    then started again (US SPD) then checked the record, it's set to
    "Y" again. Does anyone know what could be causing this ?

    thanks
    ricardo

2000.1Looks like a customisation problem.GIDDAY::SETHIMan from DownunderMon Dec 21 1992 23:4311
    Hi Ricardo,

    Have you tried entering ALL-IN-1 with $ALLIN1/NOCUSTOM and testing. It
    looks it could be a customisation problem because you are unable to
    reproduce the problem on "our system" I guess it's uncustomised.

    Is it a 3.0 system and have you tried enabling tracing ?

    Good Luck,

    Sunil
2000.2It's V2.4 system and lives in U.K too !KAOFS::R_OBASTue Dec 22 1992 14:579

     Sunil,

      ALLIN1/NOCUSTOM is always my normal approach if problem is not
    reproducible in our system, unfortunately this is not the case.
    Yes, Ive been trying to get a trace, bad I keep getting a bad line
    and my process keeps going to the ski slopes.

2000.3Late but i'm catching upAIMTEC::WICKS_AA year behind in more ways than oneWed Jan 06 1993 03:2916
    Ricardo,

    The script you need to look at is SMNETUPDT.SCP if this beasty gets
    confused about what update mode its being called in - see the symbol
    #NETUPDT_MODE (I think) then it will update NETWORK wrongly. I thought
    this was a "known problem" at one time

    I'm sure there used to be a STARS article on this but i've just tried to
    log on to it and can't remember my password - been away too long!

    I always loved the MAD option - and the SAD option too!

    Andrew,

     I think you're right. THe #netupdt_mode gets confused and always sets
    the symbol to 3 which is "set deleted flag "Y".
    I could not find anything in stars. Did you happen to remember what the
    solution was ?

    thanks
    ricardo
2000.6Network Profile Developer answered it!AIMTEC::WICKS_AA year behind in more ways than oneMon Jan 18 1993 18:338
    Ricardo,

    it was answered as "fixed in v3.0" - it doesn't appear to have been
    patched in a K6xx but you could presumably make the change yourself.
