1987.2 | What modules? - have you run the CART? | IOSG::WICKSA | Left alone in IOSG's rabbit warren | Fri Dec 18 1992 14:08 | 12 |
| Computer Associates products such as CA-ARCHIVER aren't supported
by DIGITAL so you were right about that.
If you could tell us what modules (BLISS, FORMS, SCRIPTS etc) that
FORWARDS changes someone could make an educated guess on how smoothly
it might upgrade to v3.0 - naturally you can also run the CART
on your current system to obtain similiar information

1987.3 | Forwards Def. - CART non-informative on Forwards | ALBANY::FIEDLER | | Fri Dec 18 1992 16:55 | 19 |
| RE .1
FORWARDS is a Document Retrieval System.
It is both command and menu driven. My customer is utilizing it as
an Index of Legal Documents retrieval mechanism.
It is access from ALL-IN-1 menu just like LOTUS etc.
I have run CART on their system and I don't believe it picked up any
conflicts. I'll be running CART again soon, I'll make double sure.
I'm not sure what modules are modified. My customer is trying to find
someone who can answer that.
Also, customer informed me that FORWARDS was originally developed by
Access Technology. I guess that Computer Assoc bought Access Tech.
Thanks for your help

| presumably if there's an option like Lotus on the MAIN menu that's for
FORWARDS then the CART should have reported that in something like status P
using BACKUP/LIST on the FORWARDS saveset(s) would give a definitive
list of changed modules
And you're right about Computer Associates buying out Access Technology
- it was about this time last year and they picked up the 20/20
spreadsheet and it's integration into ALL-IN-1 as well
