1979.0. "Multicolumn converting frm 2.4 to 3.0" by NCBOOT::HARRIS (oooppps) Wed Dec 16 1992 17:24

    Hi,

my customer heard at DECUS that multicolumn docments created tin 2.4 do
    not convert to 3.0.

Is this documented somwhere at DEC? Will this be included in a future
    version?

    Is there any work around?

    		thanks- ann

I'd not heard of this. It's quite *possible* that it *might* be true
    that V3.0 (i.e. WPS-PLUS V4.n) multi-column documents won't work on an
older system. Actually I think the control blocks are just ignored, and
come out as single column text.

    Who told you this?

It's certainly a question for the WPS-PLUS conference.

PS I hacked your base note to remove the name of an imaginary product
version that you referred to :-)

Old multicolumn documents do not automatically get converted to the new
multicolumn format, but the old format is still supported in the new
version. What Therese probably indicated is that she's heard of
problems where old multi documents didn't print properly in the new
    version.
