1969.0. "tools to capture ALL-IN-1 commands from users ?" by MSAM00::HOSOKEHUN () Wed Dec 16 1992 01:29

    Hi,

I am looking for a utility to capture a user's doings in ALL-IN-1.

The utility should allow me to select the users, run from a period of
time and tell me what the users did in ALL-IN-1 during that time.

Is there such a utility available currently ??

This customer has about 300 users and sometimes received very weird
complaint from users about ALL-IN-1. So he wants to run this utility to
    check on his users.

    Any tools out there ??

    REgards,
    Angeline

If his users dont mind being spied upon he could ask them to use
input trace ... <set_trace(input, log="user.log") or use GOLD%.
They would need VIEW priv in V3.

There are also various tools in the toolshed, and commercially
available utilities to watch terminals from another process.

My customer uses something called TT-REKON (or a similar name). This
allows the help desk to "take over" someone elses terminal, and either
watch what they are typing on it, or else to type on the helpdesk
terminal, and the user can see what happens on his terminal.....

Forget "big brother" etc, this is VERY USEFUL when it comes to helping
    end-users with the system.
