1915.0. "ALL-IN-1 V2.4 with CDA Converter Library V2.0?" by EISYFI::ISLER () Tue Dec 08 1992 03:31

    My customer is still on ALL-IN-1 V2.4 and will be for some time. They
    are going to add DECmailworks with MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint to
    one of their sites (or possibly Teamlinks), and will want to have
    transparent document conversion.

    CDA Converter Library is much cheaper than Keypak to put on the VAX
    system where they have ALL-IN-1 users, so I would prefer to sell our
    product.

    My question is : Does ALL-IN-1 V2.4 support CDA Converter Library V2.0
    which is the latest and greatest version od CDA Conv. Lib or do they
    need to upgrade to V3.0 of ALL-IN-1 to use V2.0 of the Converter
    library?

1915.1Possibly - But some customisations required...IOSG::PYEGraham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's ApprenticeTue Dec 08 1992 08:598
    CDA Conversions were suported in a different way in V2.4, so you would
    have to do some different things to make all the other conversions
    available. I think this would entail adding some more records to
    DSABCONV.DAT and defining some new scripts to do the conversions.

    Of course, I'm not an expert on this stuff :-)

    In addition to what Graham says in .1, any converters that are to be
    used in ALL-IN-1 have to be `known images' (i.e. installed with the
    $INSTALL utility.) See the OA$LIB:OA$CDA_STARTUP.COM file to see
    those converters which we already $INSTALL.

    Cheers,
        Paul.
