I'm installing Teamlinks on a PC but have had a problem with defining the primary mail file cabinet since we only have ALL-IN-1 IOS available on our server, and the program specifies that ALL-IN-1 MAIL (DEC MAILworks ?) is required. Ploughing through existing documentation I came across the 'ALL-IN-1 MAIL Server for VMS V1.n at exit from Phase 0' document which gave a definition for ALL-IN-1 IOS. It suggested that the ALL-IN-1 MAIL Server is being incorporated into the ALL-IN-1 IOS release code-named DIAMOND as it's mail subsystem. Is this release available (is it v3.0) ? If not will it be available at any time in the future ? Thanks in advance, David. I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, so if not please give me a pointer to the correct place.

David, Firstly please try and spell ALL-IN-1 (DIGITAL's fourth highest revenue earner) correctly. ALL-IN-1 v3.0 does not support X.400 Mail. the documentation you are probably reading (is not a customer viewable document) contains a proposal that was (in my opinion) rightly rejected. Since we don't discuss futures in this conference I'm not allowed to say that ALL-IN-1 will NEVER include DEC MAILworks mail As for your situation you must install DEC MAILworks since that it is the only mail transport that TeamLinks currently supports. TeamLinks does however provide access to your ALL-IN-1 file cabinet The TeamLInks conference can be found at ABBOTT::WINDOWS_OFFICE Regards, Andrew.D.Wicks | |||||

Whilst Andy's reply in .1 is (as always) correct that you won't see a MAILworks server appearing in ALL-IN-1 until it gets very cold in an evil place, what you are trying to do (use ALL-IN-1 as a mail server to TeamLinks) is not an unusual request, and one that TeamLinks engineering and ALL-IN-1 engineering have been listening to for some time (if you catch my drift). Without wishing to be executed by the thought Police, there are several notes in WINDOWS_OFFICE that allude to ALL-IN-1 being used as a mail server in a PFR of TeamLinks. Regards, Paul |
