The NEXT SCREEN key is used to change WPS-PLUS formatting settings. If you
are printing a document which will not be formatted using the WPS-PLUS
formatter and you press NEXT SCREEN the message:
You cannot change the WPS-PLUS formatting settings for this document
will be displayed. What is the Data type and Handling of the documents you
are printing?

What type of printer are you using? The ALL-IN-1 ASCII formatter performs
underlining and bolding by overstriking. On a laser printer, such as an
LN03, underlining by overstriking does work, but bolding by overstriking
does not.
> 3) Control blocks don't work at all.
Control blocks are a feature of WPS-PLUS and are only processed by the
WPS-PLUS formatter.
All you problems suggest that your documents are being formatted by the
ALL-IN-1 ASCII formatter and not by the WPS-PLUS formatter. Check the
following in your FORMAT master.
1. Is there a 'WPSPLUS' entry? If not, look at OA$LIB:FORMAT_PREPOP.SCP
for what the entry should be.
2. Is the 'WPS-PLUS formatting' field set to 'Y'? If not, this will
explain why WPS-PLUS documents are not being formatted with the
WPS-PLUS formatter.

I think this problem occurs on ALL non-english upgraded systems.
'WPS-PLUS formatting' field of the converted records in FORMAT.DAT wil not
contain 'Y', but the language equivalent....

Thanks for the answer Richard. All the documents had the correct
handling, it was happening on LN03, DEClaser and LN03R printers. They
were all trying to use the WPSPLUS format master. However on re-checking
this record, I noticed that the WPSPLUS formatting field on the second
side of the form was set to 'J', and not 'Y' like all the other fields
were. This was obviously done by the upgrade procedure.
