1844.0. "IAD hangs, Drawer Index incorrect?" by EVOIS8::DEC_HELLAS () Tue Nov 24 1992 16:01

    Hi there,

    here are some strange happenings in my ALL-IN-1 V3.0:

    1. When I do EM FC DRM IAD I get the index of available drawers right
    away (with the SYSTEM field blank).
    However at the top of the list entry # 1 has blank OWNER, DRAWER and
    description. Here is a picture:

    ===========================================================================
                               Index of Available Drawers
    (Selections: 0  )                                   (New messages: 0 )
    ===========================================================================
      No.   Owner                 Drawer              Description
    ===========================================================================
     > 1
       2    A1$SCRIPT             MAIN
       3    ALOUPIS.CONSTANTINE   MAIN
       4    ANTONAKIS.STELIOS     MAIN
       5    APOSTOLIDIS.ANTONIS   MAIN
       6    APOSTOLOPOULOS.VASIL  MAIN

    Why is it so?

    2. If I do SM MFC MD IAD then my process hangs forever! Why????

    3. While in the SM MFC MD menu, if I want to scroll through the drawers
    and use the UP-ARROW key, I get the error msg

    Error occurred setting drawer

    and if I do GOLD-W:

    OA-I-LASTLINE, Error occurred setting drawer

    Definitely, there something wrong somewhere? Any clue from anyone?

    regards

    Nicholas

1844.1How to remove the blank recordIOSG::MAURICEHex 20 travellerTue Nov 24 1992 17:2119
    Hi,

    It looks like there is a blank record in the PARTITION. I hope there is
    no way of achieving this from the User Interface, but of course your
    customer's application may have written it.

    Running the PT housekeeping procedure would have detected and reported this
    condition, but not repair it.

    At the API you can type

    <write delete partition unique_name = ""

    This should solve problem (1). Please let us know if it fixes the
    others as well.

    Cheers

1844.2Your suggestion worked!EVOIS8::DEC_HELLASWed Nov 25 1992 09:1316
    Stuart,

    thanks a lot. After I did:

    <write delete partition unique_name = ""

    all three problems mentioned in 1844.0 disappeared! It seems that the
    blank drawer record in the partition was causing the problems.

    thanks again,

    Cheers

    Nicholas
