One of our customers has upgraded to 3.0 and is now checking if the problems known in 2.4 have been solved in 3.0. One of these problems is the 'infinite loop problem' of the ADS procedure. The STARS article is attached to this note. He checked if the changes applied to the archive_sys_user_folder.scp in 2.4 have been incorporated in 3.0. According to him, the procedure has not been changed to include the fixes described in the article. Does he have to apply the STARS article again to his 3.0 system? Thanks, Veerle ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ADS Archiving Procedure Appears To Hang in a Loop, Never Completes PRODUCT: ALL-IN-1 V2.4 SOURCE: Customer Support Center/Atlanta USA PROBLEM: The ADS archiving housekeeping procedure will go into an infinite loop. The batch job submitted appears to be taking an abnormally long time to process, and it does not appear to be archiving documents into the archive area on the system. It appears as though some users (at the beginning alphabetically of the profile) have been processed but users at the end of the alphabet have not. <<< Remainder of article removed by ALL-IN-1 Conference Moderator GAP >>>

Veerle, Firstly, when posting STARS articles please remove the "hidden text" particularly the authors name. Secondly the reason the script you mention hasn't changed is that it was deleted/removed in v3.0!! Take a look at the customer's CART report - they did run the CART didn't they??? the 13th of the 500 or so elements in STATUS A is: ARCHIVE_SYS_USER_FOLDERS DO ENGLISH Regards, Andrew.D.Wicks | |||||
1843.2 | And CABINET NEXT_FOLDER is fixed! | IOSG::MAURICE | Hex 20 traveller | Tue Nov 24 1992 17:15 | 10 |
Hi, To add another comment extra to Andy, it is worth noting that the underlying problem was a bug in the CABINET NEXT_FOLDER function. When this was fixed in V3.0 the workrounds required in the V2.4 version were no longer needed. Cheers Stuart |
