1840.0. "Preliminary test messages..." by NCBOOT::HARRIS (oooppps) Mon Nov 23 1992 21:14

    i recently installed K603 at the customer site. i am now able to run
    the PT housekeeping job. the problem with comma's in the ALL-IN-1 name
    was why PT never ran before.

    in the log file i got 7 warning messages

    	invalid VMSUSR field defined in profile of CAMPBELL, TED

    what should i look at in the profile? there are 1247 users on the
    system. this message did not appear for the remaining 1240. the
    ALL-IN-1 name is LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME MI. the VMSUSR is their employee
    number. i looked at each profile and UAF record for the 7 "warnings".
    nothing out of the ordinary. i was also able to set default and dir in
    each of the accounts .OA directory.

    what are these warnings trying to tell me?

    	thanks - ann

1840.1VMS account is all numbers?AIMTEC::WICKS_ALiverpool 4 Norwich 1Mon Nov 23 1992 21:4611
    Ann,

    It's telling you that the VMSUSR field is invalid (:==:)

    You don't really mean that the VMS account is all numeric do you since
    VMS doesn't allow that.

    ALl-IN-1 2.4 (patched to K603), VMS 5.5-2

    I have PT running daily at high noon and today got this error message

    %START_BATCH-I SYSPRV privilege enabled
    %START_BATCH-E Failure to obtain lock after 10 attempts
    %START_BATCH-I %START_BATCH facility exiting due to error
    %START_BATCH-I performing %START_BATCH exit and cleanup processing
    %START_BATCH-I SENDLOCK.DAT and FETCHLOCK.DAT unlocked
    %START_BATCH-E processing completed with an error for %START_BATCH
    %SMJACKET-E error returned from called procedure
    %SMJACKET-I %SMJACKET facility exiting due to error

    searching STARS showed obvious articles.

    Ann,

    	Did you check A1SUB.LOG for errors ??

    Iain.

    the only A1SUB.LOG for the proper date/time is in [.mgr] directory. and
    it is empty.

1840.7Same as note 3076 in old conf?AIMTEC::WICKS_AJune 7-13 Real Football in the U.SWed Jun 02 1993 03:0214
    Ann,

    It looks to me as if this is the same thing as note 3076 in the _v24
    version of this conference

    - running PT in the middle of the day even in Minnesota isn't the best
    time I would have thought - surely all the cows and sheep need to log on
    after a hard morning chewing the grass (:==:) so maybe it is a case of
    PT clashing with the Sender/fetcher (and losing of course)
    - how about running it later in the day?

    Regards,

    Andrew.D.Wicks
1840.8ANGLIN::HARRISAuser viciousWed Jun 02 1993 16:3313
    thanks andrew. i'll take a look at the _v24 conference. i run it at
    noon because by then all the sheep/cows have returned home. most of
    them start there day at 6AM! (yuck!).

    if its just a clash with the sender/fetcher i can live with that. the
    sender/gfetcher run every 5 -7 minutes, so i guess i'm bud to have a
    clash now and then.

    i could run it later, but would run the chance of having a clash no
    matter when i run it.

    	thanks - ann

1840.9so many systems and so little knowledge...ANGLIN::HARRISAuser viciousWed Jun 02 1993 16:566
    so sorry...my mistake (what else is new), this is a 3.0 system.
    according to _v24 note 3076, this problem was supposed to be fixed in
    ALL-IN-1 3.0.

    ann

1840.10Of course it was!AIMTEC::WICKS_AJune 7-13 Real Football in the U.SWed Jun 02 1993 18:028
    Ann,

    there's not an old customised SM script or com in the way - i'm running
    out of guesses since i'm sure that all bugs were fixed in v3.0 (:==:)

1840.11dazed & confused ...ANGLIN::HARRISAhooked on DAVEMon Oct 04 1993 20:0518
    ok, here's my latest dumb question ...

    ALL-IN1- 2.4 patched to K603

    when preliminary test runs, the log files shows

    Version 2.4-K602

    Error detected with account DOHRN, ROLLIE ...
    Couldn't open DOHRN, ROLLIE's DOCDB -- ?Bad directory for device

    I have set default to this users top level directory and there is an
    OA.DIR file. OA.DIR appears to have all the proper files (ie: DAF.DAT,
    DOCDB.DAT etc...) there is only 1 profile record for this user.

        Make sure the logical is defined properly with
        (concealed,terminal). Also check to see if system access to files
        has been turned off.
