hi, the customer would like to make group dictionary and corporate dictionary hidden from users. any pointers/ideas on this one? what effect will there be if i just toast these 2 dictionarys? i've already suggested - "just tell the users, we're not using them at this time?" they didnt' like it, but if that's the way it has to be... ann

You could presumably set the protections and ACLs on them so that they couldn't have any words added to them. Pretty soon people would realise they weren't very useful... I dunno what might happen if you took them away. Maybe a nasty error message. Perhaps someone in the Spellchecker/Linguistics conference might know. Or you could try it :-) Graham |
