    Hi,

    I have a reply to an event that is not forwardable or deletable
    and I was wondering how it occurred.

1817.1Can you (did you?) read it?FORTY2::ASHGrahame Ash @REOThu Nov 19 1992 16:277
The suspicious line there (though it's split over 2) is
Status: NOTED. If you Read the event message again, it may change it to Read
and then set Deletable to Y.

Is there a problem with reading it?

    I've read the message several times, but I still cannot delete it.

        This is a known feature of ALL-IN-1. The reply to any event sent
        through the MTS network, is unreadible when it returns. The moral
        is not to use TM to invite off-node users to events.

        Get your system manager to modify the delete flag on the message,
        then you will be able to remove it.

        Please note that this is a V3.0 feature.  V2.3 & V2.4 didn't
        handle TM requests from the MTS network any better, but at least
        they would be marked as READ and deletable.

1817.5IS IT JUST A PROBLEM IN V3?NEWOA::WILSON_SMon Nov 23 1992 10:395
    Thanks.

    Is this a problem in versino 3 only? Is there likely to be a 'fix'.

        The error message displayed while reading the reply, "Error
        occurred writing to the attendee file", appears in v2.3, v2.4 &
        v3.0. The message status staying NOTED is new to v3.0.

        I can't answer the last part, as we aren't allowed to discuss
        futures here. With FSIN or STARS you can access the problem
        reports and possible engineering responses.

1817.7Angry Customers....!BRUMMY::BRUMMY::RICHARDYour robot sounds like Pink FloydThu Feb 25 1993 14:3212
Well I just had one of my internal customers give me a real ear-bashing about all
of this attendee stuff, the crux of his argument was :-

"If the developers know this stuff does not work with MTS etc..., why do they
allow you to enter off node attendees?"

I have to admit, he has a point!

Any comments...?

1817.8Not everyone uses MTS!IOSG::SHOVEDave Shove -- REO2-G/M6Fri Feb 26 1993 15:195
    Well, I suppose the answer is that it does work in a lot of cases. Most
    customers don't use Area Routing. Unfortunately, one of the larger
    customers does - Digital!
