1798.0. "Cannot NEWDIR then read document" by KERNEL::LOAT (Spin my nipple-nuts and send me to Alaska!) Tue Nov 17 1992 15:54

A customer who is running ALL-IN-1 3.0 and VMS 5.5 is having a bit of a
problem when they NEWDIR into other peoples accounts from the ALL-IN-1
managers account to read a document. They get an error:

    "File not found."

I've looked at a trace of whats going on, and the line it executes is
    as follows:

    FORMAT "@OA$CURDOC","","VT100",-2,1,1,0

In the trace output, it evaluates the value of oa$curdoc, then the
value of "VT100", then looks for a file called WPL_INDEX_TABLE.DAT
which it doesn't find, and then it gives this error message.

I understand that this file is the data file for the Paragraph
numbering styles under 2.4, but I can't find any mention of it under
    3.0. Is it still used?

Is there a particular type of formatting which will look for this file?
    Any ideas?

    Steve.

PS. It still does this with ALLI/NOCUST!

Yes, WPS-PLUS formatting. The FORMAT function only calls the WPS-PLUS
formatter.

It's possible that a WPS-PLUS document created with an older version of
WPS-PLUS will use this old file. Ask in the WPS-PLUS conference.
