1778.0. "Lost Attachment fields." by KERNEL::SALMONJ (Jason Salmon) Fri Nov 13 1992 11:06

  Hello,

I have a customer who has a problem with reading his messages that have file
attachments when reading such messages either from EM or WP the To: and From:
fields are not displayed.I have checked their Mailatt1.blp and Mailatt2.blp
  and they match ours exactly.

The only other information I have is that they had some corrupted data share
files which they believed they had recovered successfully, but the problem has
only been apparent since the corruption.

  Any ideas ?

    Jason,

One place to start would be to turn on tracing for symbols, etc..,
read one of the messages with the attachments.

Then read a message with no attachments.

Compare the results and use the same code interactively to check
    the attributes.

1778.2What happened to the SDAF ?AIMTEC::VOLLER_IGordon (T) Gopher for PresidentFri Nov 13 1992 16:4619
    Jason,

Did the 'corrupted data share files' include the SDAF
    	(OA$DAF_%.DAT) ?

If so, how was it recovered ?

The SDAF contains all the extended attributes (TOs, CCs etc.) for
all shared documents, including attachments. If the attachment
records are missing then you could expect to see the behaviour you
    	have described.

    Cheers,

    Iain.

    Hello
SDAF wasn't affected but the customer believes that
    Oa$sm_utility_master.dat was.

I will try traceing whats going on with him.

    Jason.
