1776.0. "Patch A for Teamlinks" by KORU::SCHRODER (Wellington - where wet wind whistles worst!) Fri Nov 13 1992 04:15

The Teamlinks README.TXT talks about ALL-IN-1 V3 Patch A as being a
pre-requisite.

I known we're not supposed to talk about patches here, but can someone tell
me whether the patch exists, or who to contact.

Cheers,
Rob S.

    John,

Even though I feel like i'm flogging a dead horse!

There is no such thing as Patch Kit A for ALL-IN-1 v3.0 and I doubt
    whether there will ever be.

I think what you're asking them to get is a product/patch kit
called ALL-IN-1 V3.0-1 - of course since that isn't available
yet it's an academic point but that won't stop me.

It would be really nice if you could use the correct name in your
release notes this time (:==:) (:==:) please

    regards,

Thanks to Jan for posting my note from the TeamLinks conference! I
believe I have as much chance of getting them to use the right patch
name as I have of getting a manager to make a sensible decision (:==:)

As I told one of Rob's colleagues yesterday there is a formal channel
for TeamLinks support in New Zealand/Australia and if he follows it I
am sure he will get the answer he needs.

Let's use that channel please - we do not discuss futures here.

    Regards,

    Hi,
I have the following information and need to know the patch
    availability.
In 1776.2, the kit will be ready 'later this year'. Is it ready
    now or when ?

	Thanks!

1. NEW FEATURES
===============

The following new features have been added to TeamLinks V1.0A.

- The installation procedure now gives you 3 choices:

            1. Local PC installation
            2. Network server installation
            3. Network client installation

If you want to install all of the TeamLinks files onto your local PC, choose
the local PC installation. If you would like to install the TeamLinks files
onto a server to be shared by many users, choose the network server
installation. If you would like to install the TeamLinks files that must
reside on your PC even when using a network installation, choose the
  network client installation.

- Attachments can now be extracted to new file cabinet objects as well as
  DOS files.

- The Find function in Infoman works across multiple folders and drawers.

- The Find function will search for formats using a partial match, not just
  exact matches.

- After an export operation, a message appears giving the file specification
of the file to which it was exported.

- After the conversion of a file to another format, a message appears giving
the name of the file to which it was converted.

- As wastebaskets are emptied, the drawer name of the wastebasket being
emptied is displayed in a status box.

- If you have chosen to empty wastebaskets on exit, and have also set the
option to confirm on emptying wastebaskets, you will be prompted on
  exit.

- You now have the option to cancel copy and move operations that are in
  progress.

- The Associate dialog box will always be enabled when you are connected
  to a file cabinet.

- A Save... function has been added to the TeamRoute Template Designer.

- You can specify more than one attachment when using the QuickRoute DDE.

I'm not sure that the patch kit has yet been released. It will be in
    due course.

You don't need the patch to upgrade to TeamLinks V1.0A. TeamLinks
doesn't care very much about ALL-IN-1 during its installation so you
can certainly install it onto your PC. The fixes in the patch are for
the File Cabinet Server, but I think if you avoid transferring files
greater than 32K between TeamLinks and IOS you'll be OK.

Waiting for an official kit announcement....

    Sowwan,

Trust me - if/when the **** kit is released it will be announced here
as soon as it is shipping from SSB.

I will move all these replies to note 1776 now to keep things tidy.
