Hello, A customer would like to install ALL-IN-1 V3.0 as coexistent system. In Chapter 6.10 System Preparation Task: it says to SHUTDOWN ALL-IN-1 but it is not differentiate between upgrade and coexistent installation. Question: is it absolutely necessary to have ALL-IN-1 V2.4 shutdowned to be able to install ALL-IN-1 V3.0 as COEXISTENT? The customer does not want to make a shutdown if it is not absolutely necessary; so his ALL-IN-1 V2.4 users could still work. ALL-IN-1 V2.4 system is installed within a Cluster. Any suggestions and help are most welcome. Best regards, Manuela

Manuela, Since a co-ex system is effectively a fresh install of ALL-IN-1 that does not look at, touch or in anyway mess with your v2.4 system you should be ok but then I have never installed a co-ex system in my life so take this as a wild guess. remember however that an ALL-IN-1 v3.0 install takes a very long time anyway and clearly if you have any other users on the system particularly using ALL-IN-1 then they are going to be using lots of CPU and IO that the Install could be using then you are going to have to be prepared for the install to take a very very very long-time to complete. Why not do the install after hours when the users are not on the system? Regards, Andrew.D.Wicks |
