    I'm sure this question will warm your hearts!! My customer currently
    has ALL-IN-1 2.4, using the SFCP, with Word Perfect as the editor. The
    only functionality they are using is messaging, no customization, no
    calendaring, no additional integrated applications.
    
    Their environment is mostly VTs, they are dong terminal emulation from
    the few PCs they do have.  Over time (5 years) they will be putting
    more PC into their offices.
    
    They don't like the price of ALL-IN-1, and don't want to go thru
    massive retraining to DEC Mailworks right now. They would like to wait
    til our messaging strategy is less complex, (because they haven't the
    staff to manage it) before moving to a client/server (DEC Mailworks)
    solution.
    
    We are concerned that they are talking of getting rid of ALL-IN-1,
    and are constantly dissatisfied with the $$ they pay for it.
    
    Can ALL-IN-1 Starter be used as an interrim solution to provide them
    with messaging (mail), Word Perfect Editor, and will it work with the
    SFCP?

	Pam, The "official" word as stated in the SPD is that you are not allowed to customise or integrate other products with ALL-IN-1 STARTER since STARTER is a non-customisable subset of REAL ALL-IN-1. One other thing to bear in mind is that this isn't really the time to go around installing SFCP on anything since SFCP was retired sometime ago, the engineering expertise and support for it has all but disappeared. You'd be better off thinking about a v3.0 version of STARTER since then you don't have to worry about SFCP since you get Shared Filing built in. However since STARTER v3.0 is a future I can say no more and will have to direct you to note 1428 for contact names. Your remaining problem would then be WPCORP. WPCORP certainly assumes the presence of CM (Customisation Management) on the installing ALL-IN-1 system and since this part of ALL-IN-1 isn't in STARTER you might not even be able to install WPCORP. I have heard of people who hacked it in for STARTER v2.4 but do not that if this would be possible on any possible future release of STARTER. I realise this is probably all bad news but I feel it's better to tell the truth then set unreal expectations. regards, Andrew.D.Wicks

	Assuming ( :-) ) that the V3.0 version of Starter is "architected" in the same way as the previous versions, then although the CM code isn't all there, the data files etc., should be. I dunno whether this will be enough to enable WP to install and work? Graham

	Pam, Is V3.0 with user licensing a possibility? Perhaps it would be cheaper than capacity licensing for the customer's usage level. V3.0 really is the way to go - SFCP has served its purpose and the sooner the world moves to V3.0 sharing, the better. ~K.
