1711.0. "GC, CM & Moderator Can Only Delete Note Only??? " by ZPOVC::CHIKLIAK () Wed Nov 04 1992 10:56

Hi,

Need some input whether these can be done. Customer wants to find out whether
they can customize the Group Conference so that ONLY the MODERATOR can delete
the note, and not even the user that enter the note initially.

If yes, the customer does not know which file to customize. Can someone point
it to me. Also is this supported???

If no, can anything be done beside customization.

Thanks in advance...

1711.2In VAX Notes - no, in GPC - with cautionIDNTCR::RHOTONJohn Rhoton @TNO - DTN 871.7947Wed Nov 04 1992 11:1622

It depends on which point you would like to enforce this restriction. The
base product VAX Notes does not allow for this type of facility, nor is there
any way to implement it short of convincing the (VAX Notes) developers that
it would be desirable. This implies that anything you would do for GPC would
only be valid for GPC users. If the users were to manage to use another client
(PATHworks, Motif, Command-line...) then they could easily circumvent the
restriction.

If you are interested in applying the customisation for only ALL-IN-1 users
then you could easily edit the named data for the Delete option. Still you
would want to ensure that none of your users could get to DCL and invoke the
command-line interface.

I hope this helps,

John
1711.3Customize the replies tooIOSG::TALLETTGimmee an Alpha colour notebook...Wed Nov 04 1992 18:009

    	You could maybe customize the way you add REPLY's so that they
    	are not owned by the entering user. Say by submitting a batch
    	job to write the reply, or an SDF. Then they could only delete
    	entries they enter with other interfaces (but you could restrict
    	the conference so they had to use your GPC)
