ALL-IN-1 V3 Is there any reason why the EM FAM option allows you to File Document attachments as messages. It copies the file into the shared area, gives it a status of READ, and sets modifiable to N - can be confusing for users who meant to use the FA option. Surely the FAM option should validate that the attachment is of type MAIL and only work on these ? Aston

Hi, >> Is there any reason why the EM FAM option allows you to File Document >> attachments as messages Because, I suppose, some people might want to do this. >> can be confusing for users who meant to use the FA option. True, but you can say that about a lot of things! >> Surely the FAM option should validate that the attachment is of type MAIL and >> only work on these ? That is one way it could be done, and your reasoning is perfectly valid. However, we'd then get people complaining that FAM didn't work on documents. It is probably better that we provide the functionality, and users can then choose whether or not to use it, rather than us restricting the fnality. Scott | |||||

re: .0 If you FAM on the current message and file it into the READ folder, you can "reply" to the attachment whereas if you FA, you can't! Audrey |
