1664.0. "MAXPARM error in the ROF log file" by TKTV27::KOHARA (Kazuko Kohara TSC/CS) Tue Oct 27 1992 08:49
My customer has using A1 V2.3.
After he run the ROF option of house keeping, he found some error messages
in the log file.
I found the same topic in ALL-IN-1_V23. It says a known bug.
I want to know this problem has fixed or not in V2.4. Please help!
Regards,
Kazuko

I need some help with the following:
I reorganized all users file cabinets using the ROF option. In
analyzing the log, I noticed some of the accounts returned errors
in converting the .A1CAL files.
Here is a sample of one:
%SMREORG-I-RPFC Reorganizing "YOUNG BILL" personal file cabinet
%SMREORG-I-PFCC "YOUNG BILL" personal file cabinet closed
%SMREORG-I-CSTART Converting "DOCDB.DAT" using FDL file
"OA$LIB:DOCDB.FDL"
%SMREORG-I-CEND "DOCDB.DAT" converted - was 44 blocks, now 44 blocks
%SMREORG-I-CSTART Converting "DAF.DAT" using FDL File
"OA$LIB:PDAF.FDL"
%SMREORG-I-CEND "DAF.DAT" converted - was 11 blocks, now 11 blocks
%SMREORG-I-CSTART Converting "YOUNG BILL.A1CAL" using FDL file
"OA$LIB:CALENDAR.FDL"
%RCL-W-MAXPARM, too many parameters - reenter command with fewer
parameters \OAUSERS2\
%SMREORG-E-CFAIL Convert failed for "YOUNG BILL.A1CAL"
%NONAME-E-NOMSG, Message number 00000002
%SMREORG-E_UNEXEC Unexpected error condition
-NONAME-E-NOMSG, Message number 00000002
%NONAME-E-NOMSG, Message number 00000002
NOTE: OAUSERS2 is the disk name. This user has a calendar file called
YOUNGROBE.A1CAL
Any ideas will be appreciated!

Well, this looks like a bug which has a good chance of being
fixed in a PFR.
One thing doesn't make sense though. If the user's username is
"YOUNG BILL", their calendar file should be YOUNGBILL.A1CAL.
It would be YOUNGROBE.A1CAL if their username was "YOUNG ROBERT"

re: -1
I thought that was strange too, that's why I entered that one.
The other accounts that had problems with the .A1CAL files had
normal names (eg., YU YOLANDA.A1CAL when the personal file cabinet
was named YU YOLANDA).
Can I rename the YOUNGROBE.A1CAL file to YOUNGBILL.A1CAL?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seems to me that I saw something about this problem being possibly
fixed in an imminent (or rather eminent!!) possible future release
of ALL-IN-1. The Empty Wastebasket could not convert the calendar
file if the user name had a space in it. (There is already an SPR for
this.)
Can JAL or others on the other side of the pond comment on this problem?

| Kazuko,
The only way to be absolutely sure is to retest it yourself on v2.4. All the
people involved in the old note are now ex-DIGITAL and I suspect that
very few other people remember v2.4 fixes 2.5 years later.
