1638.1 | DEBUG DEBUG DEBUG | AIMTEC::WICKS_A | Braves Win, Braves Win, Braves Win! | Tue Oct 20 1992 21:10 | 11 |
| Eileen,
Repeating the installation with OPTIONS D will prove what it is
but my guess (and have you ever known me to be right?) is NOTES
Either Upgrade Notes to 2.1 or hide the NOTES$LIBRARY logical and
object library and all will continue happily ever after.
Regards,

1638.2 | Have you installed SYS$SHARE:UVMTHRTL.EXE ? | GIDDAY::SETHI | Man from Downunder | Wed Oct 21 1992 06:25 | 15 |
| Hi Eileen,
>I have a very "vanilla" (as opposed to rum-raisin) system. I have no Group
>Conferencing, no Message Router, no DTR, no DECwindows. I should mention
>that an old version of Notes is on there (2.0). FMS is at 2.4. The hardware
>is a MicroVAX 2000.
NOTE: FDVMSG.EXE and FDVSHR.EXE will be in place following the
installation of FMS 2.4. SYS$SHARE:UVMTHRTL.EXE must be installed for
a Miro VAX II or a Miro VAX 2000.
Can you please make sure that the pre-installation checks included the
installation of installing the above image for the Miro VAX.

1638.3 | It was a Notes executable | NEMAIL::BYRNE | The Red Menace | Mon Oct 26 1992 17:36 | 11 |
| Sunil - Yes, all appropriate images were installed
Andrew.D - You *were* right. It was Notes. There were no Notes
logicals defined, but it seemed that the very presence of the
old Notes executable was causing heartburn. I deleted that EXE
(which I didn't need) and all is fine. I have other problems, but
they will be under a separate note.
Thanks,
Eileen

1638.4 | Well STARS used to tell me | AIMTEC::WICKS_A | Liverpool 4 Norwich 1 | Mon Oct 26 1992 18:07 | 14 |
| Eileen,
There was a STARS article on this that prompted my guess but I have
no idea how to access STARS anymore since we changed over to a new
system this weekend that looks like it predates TDMS!
One might dare to suggest that the misleading error message from the
Install was an "oversight in the design" that it would be nice to
correct in a PFR but of course I wouldn't say that in front of GAP.
regards,
Andrew.D.Wicks
