I will start the ball rolling by mentioning the FRED menu option.

Have a look at the ISD option on the Manage Mail Areas menu.

Within the index (SM$MSD$INDEX) there is a named data entry for a menu
option called FRED.

Is their a logical explanation for this????

    FRED is of course very easy to type, and is very commonly used for
    temporary files etc. In the US FOO and BAR are the equivalents...
