1600.0. "MAIDES" by MSAM03::SOWWAN () Tue Oct 13 1992 03:29

    Hi,
MAIDES has the choice of ALL-IN-1, ALLIN1, PRINTER, PAPERMAIL etc.
What is the difference between them :
    			ALL-IN-1 and ALLIN1
    			PRINTER and PAPERMAIL ?
    	Thanks!
    Rgds.

I'll take an opening guess from memory.

ALLIN1 was there first and remains for backwards compatibility.
ALL-IN-1 was introduced later because that's the proper spelling of the
product. There is no difference in what happens if you select one or
    the other.

The same is true i believe for PRINTER and PAPER MAIL (The space must
be there) that is they behave functionally the same. I remember there
used to be a reason why they were both there such as compatibility with
DECmail but it escapes me at the moment. (note HARD-COPY gets the same
    effect)

And even though you didn't ask VMSMAIL and VAXMAIL are functionally
equivalent and again we introduced the correct one when we realised
that we had used the wrong product name in the first place.

so there's really only 3 choices from the 7
    o use real ALL-IN-1 mail
o use the VMS MAIL utility
o print on a piece of paper

    regards,
