1588.1 | The .TLB is part of VMS, so should always be there... | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Fri Oct 09 1992 14:40 | 13 |
| I was reliably informed by the DECTrace people (and I checked on
several systems!) that the EPC$FACILITY.TLB file was provided as part
of VMS, so it would be there even if DECTrace hadn't been installed.
How did you remove DETrace? If you did it by hand, perhaps you didn't
realise that the .TLB was provided by VMS and not by DECTrace. If
there's an automated removal procedure and it takes the .TLB away...
In either case, one more thing to look out for!
We just ask VMSINSTAL to update the .TLB, so presumably no-one checks
if it's there.

1588.2 | DELETE EPC*.*.* was not very clever, was it :-) | COPCLU::COPSPD::GLARGAARD | Allan Glargaard, DS @DMO | Mon Oct 12 1992 10:32 | 12 |
| Graham, as you have probably guessed, my deinstallation of DECtrace
was a oneliner:
$ DELETE SYS$HELP:EPC*.*.*,SYS$SYSTEM:EPC*.*.*,SYS$EXAMPLES: etc.
Pretty stupid, wasn't it :-)
Thanks for clearing up how I got my .TLB in the first place though.
Best regards,

1588.3 | It takes one to know one, as they say... | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Mon Oct 12 1992 11:01 | 6 |

About as stupid as me not checking the file was there before trying to
update it :-)
