I am entering this topic to help OSAG Product Management gather information
about the use of CDA Converters so that they can plan how to best use their
resources for future developments. 


It is being proposed that the following CDA converters will not be ported
to Alpha AXP. 

   - Alternate Format Syntax (AFS)
   - Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML)
   - Digital Standard Runnoff (DSR)     Input converter only
   - Document Exchange (DX)
 

This does not mean that the DX format will not be supported by ALL-IN-1.  
The existing support of DX by the Text Dataset mechanism will continue.  

DX has been a format which was supported by Text Datasets and CDA, which
allowed it to be used as an interchange format between the two mechanisms.
WPS-PLUS will continue to be supported by both mechanisms so it will be
available as an alternative interchange format.
