1541.0. "Check Body File = 2, TRM still cries..." by TAV02::CHAIM (Semper ubi Sub ubi .....) Thu Oct 01 1992 11:06

A customer running TRM has complained that eventhough he has the "Check Body
Files" set to 2, he still receives a message in his
oa$log:oa$sm_fcvr_mail_area.logxxx file stating:

"If the Check Body File is set to 2 then all refferences ...."

If a file which is supposed to be in one of the oa$sharex directories is not
found.

Thanks,

Cb.

That's the normal behaviour. If TRM finds that a file which is
supposed to be in one of the oa$sharex directories is not there then it
will, on the first TRM run that detects this, log the file name as you
describe. The next TRM run will check to see of the file is still
missing and if so will try to delete all the file cabinet references to
the file. I say "try" because TRM will not delete references from the
    PENDING file or UNREAD messages.

You will know if TRM has managed to delete all the references because a
    message something like

"SDAF record and all references to missing file x have been deleted"

will appear in Phase 3 of the log file.

Note that the file name will still appear in the missing files section
of the log on the run that deletes the references. Only on the next
run, when there are no references remaining, will the file name
    disappear from the log.

If TRM is repeatedly logging the same file as missing then it will be
probably be due to UNREAD or PENDING file references.
