1504.1 | All you need is a node with a gateway | SCOTTC::MARSHALL | Do you feel lucky? | Thu Sep 24 1992 17:07 | 14 |
| Hi,
If you can do it from VMS mail you should be able to do it in ALL-IN-1.
Just address the mail to the node with the gateway.
For example, I can send mail to: VBORMC::"[email protected]" in VMSmail
So in ALL-IN-1 it's something like: "[email protected]" @ VBORMC @ MRGATE
Or you could use _VBORMC::"[email protected]"
The only thing to beware is that pre ALL-IN-1 V3.0 everything might get
uppercased.

| Yes, doing it via MrGate as Scott suggests works for me - I use it all
the time.
Don't use the leading-underscore method unless you absolutely have to
(i.e. if there's no MrGate anywhere). It gives rise to problems with
replies.

1504.3 | How about SMTP from UCX 2.0? | FZOVAX::WOOSLEY | | Thu Dec 03 1992 18:04 | 6 |
| What if we do not have a gateway but want to use SMTP from UCX 2.0?
Which address would be used via MRGATE or can some kind of a mailbox
be setup to work?
Ray.

1504.4 | _SMTP% | IOSG::TALLETT | Gimmee an Alpha colour notebook... | Fri Dec 04 1992 08:31 | 13 |

I tried to get this working at DECUS in Cannes. One way that
seems to work is: _SMTP%then_the_usual_address
ie, you use the "_" to get to VMSmail, then use regular SMTP%
(similar mechanism to NM%) addressing.
Sorry I can't be more specific, but this snippet might get you
started.
When you get it to work, please post the exact syntax for others.
Regards,
Paul
