1480.0. "Language-independent definitions" by AIMTEC::BUTLER_T () Tue Sep 22 1992 22:32

This is in reference to Slide 9, CLI, from the ALL-IN-1 Seminar.

OAMAC.REQ has been divided into component SDL files - What does
SDL mean? Where have all the macro's gone?

C version shipped with Kit - I looked all over oa* - where is it?

Other languages available from Digital upon request - Who, When, and
    How?

    Thanks,

A $ HELP SDL (on a system with SDL installed) displays:

The VAX Structure Definition Language (VAX SDL) is used to write source
statements that describe data structures and that can be translated to
source statements in other languages. You can include the resulting output
file in a corresponding target language program for subsequent compilation.

Because VAX SDL is a compiler, and language independent, it is particularly
useful in maintaining multilanguage implementations.

OA$BUILD contains .H files, which are include files for C. It also
contains .R32 and .L32 files for BLISS.

Probably the easiest way for Digital people to get ahold of other
language versions would be to extract the SDL files from the
ASIAGO::ALL-IN-1_CLI conference, copy and install the SDL kit (pointer
in KITSDIR.DOC) and generate the language version which you can give to
your customers. Both the SDL installation and use are very
    straight-forward.
