1441.0. "Rename Shared Directories" by PASM09::STEVENTAM (Steven Tam @PAS) Thu Sep 17 1992 10:16

In my ALL-IN-1 systems, the shared directories are put under:
Disk:[OA.SHARE%%].

Now I want to change [OA] to [OA$SHARE]. Are the below steps
sufficient?

1. Rename the share dir.
2. Reset the logicals.
3. Edit the FORM SM_SHARED_DIR_MASTER.

Will this action (rename) affect the system, ie. A1 system files
cannot recognise the new dire?

Thanks in advance,
Steven.

I would close down ALL-IN-1 before you do the renaming, just to make
sure that the Sender and Fetcher don't get confused. Carry out all the
renaming, edit the records via form SM_SHARED_DIR_MASTER, or even
better, use a script to do the job for you. Then restart ALL-IN-1 by
running A1V30START (or A1V24START) to make sure that all of the
directories are correctly mapped by system logicals. Check everything
out (sending and receiving mail, and reading mail already stored in the
    directories) before letting users on.

And don't forget that the logicals need to be re-defined on every node in a
cluster.
