1415.0. "EDT - FILE NOT FOUND" by CROCKE::YUEN (Banquo Yuen, Darwin Australia) Tue Sep 15 1992 11:53

    Hi

I have a problem using EDT as editor in ALL-IN-1. The error message is
"File not found". I have tried to enter the command interactively like
    that <EDIT "SYS$LOGIN:TEMP.TXT","SYS$LOGIN:TMP.EDT",3,"EDT" or
         <EDIT "SYS$LOGIN:TEMP.TXT","SYS$LOGIN:TMP",3,"EDT"
same error, ie "File not found" and I have made sure that
    SYS$LOGIN:TMP.EDT exist.

I have also tried to compare all the files under [ALLIN1...]
which look like *EDT*.* or *.EDT with the other healthy ALL-IN-1
system and it looks OK to me.

And I have tried to invoke EDT in DCL and it works. Moreover, other
editors like WPSPLUS, WPCORP work fine.

Does anybody know which file is so much wanted ?

    Thank you very much

    Banquo.

Perhaps you have a logical (EDTCUSTOM) defined that is supposed to be
pointing to an editor customisation file that doesn't exist. Perhaps
the image (SYS$SHARE:DPESHR.EXE) isn't there. Note that EDIT/EDT at DCL
doesn't use the same code as ALL-IN-1's "imitation" EDT, which comes
from an editor called DPE. Try using the WPS (no "-PLUS") variant of
DPE and see if that works.

Try using $ SET WATCH FILE/CLASS=MAJOR (you need CMKRNL for this) to
see what file it actually can't find.
