1403.1 | Customize MAILMEMO*.BLP | UTRTSC::SCHOLLAERT | Alfa ready | Mon Sep 14 1992 08:43 | 22 |
| Sunil,
>In a future release of ALL-IN-1 IOS can we have distribution list
>expansions disabled/enable options ?
Did you think about customizing mailmemo%.blp ?
>Would it be possible to set a
>flag for each distribution list so that some distribution lists are
>expanded and other are not ?
What you can do is put a dummy user in the distribution lists
you do not want to print. During formatting you can check for
this entry.
User / system flags to switch suppressing can be
also be implemented in the boilerplates.

1403.2 | Nice feature to give to our customers | GIDDAY::SETHI | Man from Downunder | Mon Sep 14 1992 08:55 | 20 |
| Hi Jan,
The reason why I have asked for this as a standard is because a
customer want's this as a standard feature in future releases.
When customer's ring the CSC asking us to help them customise the
ALL-IN-1 EM sub-system we are unable to help them. Main reasons being
1. Lack of time.
2. It's not a CSC issue and all customisation performed by Digital
are chargable and require a consultant on-site to carry out the
work.
If this was a standard feature provided by ALL-IN-1 we would cut down
on the number of calls. This would mean that we don't make any money
out of consultance !!! I think it would be a nice feature to give to
the customers.

1403.4 | Why reinvent the 'wheel'? | ATLANA::SHERMAN | Debt Free! | Mon Sep 14 1992 15:26 | 9 |
| Hi Eileen,
This functionality exists in the U.S. IM&T SYS_USER ToolKit - why not do
the right thing, use the DDV style of HallMark programming and get it
from the maintainer?

1403.5 | ASSET - DISPLAY OF DISTRIBUTION LISTS | WOTVAX::63790::Doran | Good Good Stuff | Tue Sep 15 1992 14:33 | 17 |
| There is also a European ASSET available called
DISPLAY OF DISTRIBUTION LISTS
Which allows users to switch on or off displaying distribution lists for
reading and printing. It also allows you to display distribution lists in
columns (up to 4) if you have display switched on (for either reading or
printing).
This ASSET works in ALL-IN-1 V2.4, but probably needs modifying for V3.0...
Cheers,
Andy
P.S. only mentioned it as a reminder that the code could be 'planted' into
ALL-IN-1 V?.?

1403.6 | | SIOG::T_REDMOND | Thoughts of an Idle Mind | Tue Sep 15 1992 14:48 | 7 |
| I believe that the ASSET referred to in .5 is implemented using a
couple of Site Defined Functions (well, at least one). If I am
correct, the kit will have to be remastered for ALL-IN-1 V3.0 as the
way that SDFs are controlled and added to a system is very different
now.

1403.7 | Greening ALL-IN-1 the paper killer :-) | BUSHIE::SETHI | Man from Downunder | Tue Mar 23 1993 07:00 | 19 |
| Hi Eileen,
You wanted to know how many requests are generated for some of the
wishes. This one has to be the one in my experience that generates
alot of comments from the customers. This month I had a call from New
Zealand a customer was requesting this very feature.
As to the number of comments/requests I have had a number over the year
and a bit so far, well there have been at least half a dozen or so.
The reason why the customers wanted to suppress the distribution lists
was to save paper. I think we should Green ALL-IN-1 :-).
If others have had requests for this modification I hope they reply to
this topic. In this way we can get some idea of what is happening out
there.

Sunil
