1365.0. "DDS and NETWORK.DAT" by NCBOOT::HARRIS (oooppps) Fri Sep 04 1992 19:56

had a request from the customer -

they want DDS "turned on" at 1 site so that PATHWORKS and DECMAILWORKS
    can function.

there are 16 other sites (that I support) along with alot of other
    sites that use the NETWORK.DAT.

what can we expect to happen if this 1 site uses DDS?

    Ann,

What do you mean "what will happen?" both DDS and NETWORK can coexist
    happily in the same network.

Presumably your DDS site will still run Network Updates?

    Hello Ann,

    >what can we expect to happen if this 1 site uses DDS?

Installing / configuring and starting DDS for DEC Mailworks
is fully tranparent for the ALL-IN-1 world.

You have to tell ALL-IN-1 about DDS by setting the DDS
flag in A1CONFIG to non-zero. You might consider setting
the flag to 1 so the ALL-IN-1 users can access DDS as
secondary mail directory if they want to.
The ALL-IN-1 Mail Management guide describes the action
you have to perform to adopt DDS.

    Regards,
