1358.0. "Group Conferencing -- no such class??" by HGRD01::KKLEUNG () Fri Sep 04 1992 03:58

    Sometimes, when I want to add others conference to my list by filling
    all the necessary information, then the message 'no such class'
    appears. (Actually, I don't know in what situation or circumstances
    will bring this problem out, so I use 'sometimes'). Could anyone help
    me?  Thanks.

    Actually, I am using ALL-IN-1 V3.0 and NOTES V2.1
1358.3V3.01?OASS::BURDEN_DA bear in his natural habitatTue Mar 02 1993 17:3615
We have gotten 3 calls from sites that have
upgraded to ALL-IN-1 V3.01 and have received
the same error as .0 when trying to add a
conference. If it was a new user to GPC we
simply deleted NOTES$NOTEBOOK.NOTE and
reentered GPC and it worked. If they had
lots of entries we had them access the notebook
through VAX Notes and just that simple action
seemed to clear it up.

We have not been able to reproduce it at the
CSC so we don't know if the 3.01 upgrade is
causing this or not.

    Hi,

    "No such class" is a known problem in V3.0 & V3.0-1 which can be
    reproduced by using RC to remove the last conference and then again
    afterwards by trying to add another.

    I don't think you have a problem introduced by V3.0-1.

    Cheers

1358.5SPR'd? Another workaround for "no such class"OASS::ADAMS_SFri Apr 16 1993 19:1418
    This problem still exists after the ALL-IN-1 V3.1 patch.

    Has it been "SPR'd?"  Customers are still calling about this problem;
    new GPC users RC the last entry in their notebook, not knowing it will
    cause this problem, and then cannot add a new conference due to the "no
    such class" message.

    The most recent caller on this said that she has the user "fix" the
    problem by creating (CC) a new conference with class MAIN. This way,
    she does not have to go to DCL and the user can fix his own problem.
    They are putting this workaround in their training documentation, in
    fact. I am not sure how the act of creating a new conference with
    class MAIN, alone, fixes the problem but I duplicated it easily.

    Is this problem considered high enough priority to possibly make it on
    the next patch for ALL-IN-1?

1358.6problem still existsOASS::ADAMS_SFri Apr 16 1993 19:219
    I meant to say "the most recent patch." The customer said "3.1" but
    surely she meant V3.0-1.

    I will look forward to a reply on .5.

    With thanks,
