1094.1 | What versions? | IOSG::NEWLAND | Richard Newland, IOSG, REO1-D/4A | Tue Jul 21 1992 22:50 | 18 |
| What version of ALL-IN-1 are you using?
By 'WPS' do you meam the WPS-PLUS editor? If so, which version are you
using?
What type of document are you having these problems with?
A possible reason is that you have a WPS-PLUS document which has the First
Page/Last Page Print Settings set such that when you read the document only
part of the document is displayed. This normally results in only part of
the document being printed, so I don't understand why this doesn't happen
also.

Thank you for your interest Richard, so nice to hear
from across the Pond.
>What version of ALL-IN-1 are you using?
V2.4
>By 'WPS' do you meam the WPS-PLUS editor?
WP Word and document processing
>What type of document are you having these problems with?
I would call it a multi-paged, wpslike document with a page control

This is what's baffling. I had at one point selected specific pages
to print ...no problem; resetting back to normal, it then printed
the entire document. Creating again and Gold Get Docmt (getting the
document in question) gives you the entire document also -
R ead in this new doc is right.
It's very interesting to me what species of bug would affect my
innocent R ;-). This is one for Scotland Yard!
Thanks again.

1094.3 | More questions | IOSG::NEWLAND | Richard Newland, IOSG, REO1-D/4A | Wed Jul 22 1992 22:15 | 13 |
| Could you do the following to get more information about the document:
1. Display an index which includes the document with the problem.
2. Move the pointer (>) to the index entry and press GOLD-V.
3. Get the Data Type and Handling information from the information
about the document and let me know what they are:
The Data Type will probably be 'WPSPLUS' and the Handling may be blank.

The Data Type is WPSPLUS and the Handling is indeed blank.
Thank you

1094.5 | Rather devious feature | MDCRAB::HOWARD | Our business is computers not money | Sat Jul 25 1992 04:38 | 16 |
| What can happen is that the from/to attributes are still there, and the
reason they didn't show up when you printed was that you displayed the
PA menu. This would automatically set the attributes back to the
default. Unfortunately, they don't get written back to the document
unless you actually format the document and have write access to it.
You won't have write access if it is an SENT/READ mail message.
Unfortunately, there's no way to look at it, since the menu keeps
correcting the attribute.
If this is the case, you can file the text and print the document,
displaying the PA menu. You could manually copy it back if you have
privileges, but you would have to check the protection very carefully.
I believe this is fixed in V4 of WPS-PLUS.

Yes that's exactly what happened ... R was linked to P - FIRST/LAST=17
I reset FIRST/LAST=1/0 then I "SS" which I hadn't done before.
Voila R begins at p1! Thank you very much Ben.
Always something to learn in ALL-IN-1.
