1062.0. "File Cabinet Server not found" by MCIS2::CLAYBROOK () Thu Jul 16 1992 17:36

    I have a user getting the error: File Cabinet Server not found.

    The user is getting this when she goes to file a mail message from
    the Main Drawer to an another drawer, and she wants to put it in a
    new folder. I've checked the protections on her four different
    drawers. This first happened right after the upgrade and then it
    started to work, but now she's receiving the error again. Any ideas
    what a File Cabinet Server not found is? The drawers are not shared
    drawers and they're all enabled.

                                                Thanks

                                                         Dan

    Dan,

    Is the File Cab Server actually running?

    Log into the ALL-IN-1 Manager account and type SM MFC MS
    and see if it is out there?

    If it isn't then use the STA option to start it.

1062.4Some quick questions...CHRLIE::HUSTONFri Jul 17 1992 14:4318

    Chances are that the server trace log will show nothing, if you
    are getting server not available it usually means that the server
    you are connecting to is not there.

    A few questions:

    1) Are you sure that both drawers are on the same node/cluster?
    2) does the user have the logical OAFC$SRV_OBJ defined?
    3) When you do the check for server existance (in .1) what is the
       server name?
    4) If you go to DCL and do a "$ MCR NCP SHO KNOW OBJ" does an object
       73 show up?
    5) What is the distribution level of the server (MS menu)?
    6) Can other users on the system do any cross drawer operations?
