1056.0. "OA$SITE_DEV_BRITISH and CART" by KERNEL::SMITHERSJ (Living on the culinary edge....) Wed Jul 15 1992 16:26

What does the CART use to compare to report the status codes?

A customer has just run his CART on his customised system to
find that some which should have been flagged as M (ie,
mailmemo1 and 2) came out as B. The BLP is in the correct
location on disk, in [ALLIN1.SITE.BLP_BRITISH] as it is live,
however to save disk space, once they had moved it live,
they deleted the .BLP in OA$SITE_DEV_BRITISH.

CM$SITELOG does have a record in it for that boilerplate, however
I haven't checked the live location on disk field yet.
(RAThole, why is it hidden?). I am presuming it will point to
    the correct location.

I advised the customer to move a copy of all his customisations
back into OA$SITE_DEV_BRITISH and then to run the CART again.

Is this correct or is there something else he needs to do too?

    Thanks
    Julia UK CSC

You answered your own question. "To save space they deleted the
    development version..."

CART checks CM$SITELOG and looks for the file locations logged there.
The sanity check failed as we couldn't locate the development version.
So CART flags it as "B" and continues to the next element. If the live
version can't be found the status code is "C".

CART runs with Bs and Cs are suspect as we can't be sure that all
possible conflicts have been detected. Get the customer to fix the
    problems and then rerun CART.

    Julia,

The CART book does tell you to check your CART reports for Bs and Cs
and to fix them up and rerun the CART.

If it finds an element in B and C it stops checking and won't report
the element in any other status - not just M.

I'd tell you the page numbers but you'd only hit me!

    Regards,
