1031.0. "splitting pending and profile between two disks." by WAYOUT::ALLAMS (If you're not confused, you're misinformed.) Mon Jul 13 1992 11:31

Hi,

Is it possible to have pending and profile on two different disks?

	I.e. can oa$data_share be a search list?

I know of customers who have done this split and assume that they
    customized the OA$DATA_SHARE logical.

    Try it and see,

I'm also working with a customer that wishes to do this. It looks like
it's possible to re-define the OA$DATA_SHARE logical to a search list
in the OA$BUILD:A1Vnn_SITE_START.COM file. The ALL-IN-1 startup is
nice enough to use $ALLIN1/NOINIT, so PROFILE.DAT doesn't need to be in
the initial OA$DATA_SHARE directory. Of course, if the sender or fetcher
starts before OA$DATA_SHARE has been re-defined to include PROFILE.DAT,
it will cause problems. I'm still evaluating it...
