Hello,

	ALL-IN-1 v2.4 no patches

	Can anyone clarify a problem that a customer is having with 
Wordperfect / VMS v5.5 ??

	When the customer boots his machine, he gets the error

%queman-e-symdel, unexpected symboint process termination
-system-f-accvio, access violation 

	at the point when the oa$formatter is started. The oa$formatter is 
left in a stopped state. If try to start/que oa$formatter, get same error 
(oh, I do love v5.5 problems!!). From previous notes, and fellow colleagues 
around me, I found that it was not a good idea going back to a5.5 , as this 
means that SMBSRVSHR = "SYS$SHARE:SMBSRVSHR_OLD.EXE", which will not work 
with Wordperfect, as Wordperfect needs to define this logical to point to 
another WP executable. I have tried the following tests;

a) Install cscpat_1012 - no change

b) Relink ALL-IN-1 , check only correct version of oa$formatter in 
sys$system, with w:re privilege, ownership=ALLIN1

c) oa$formatter_start not customised

d) Run oa$formatter.exe got error
error creating symbiont process for

e) Running oa$formatter_start produces
%queman-e-symdel, unexpected symboint process termination
invalid message received

	and the formatter is still Stopped. The error in (e) is the same as 
another customer received on a5.5, and from reading previous notes it 
appears that Wordperfect are working on a patch to get a5.5 and Wordperfect 
to work together. When I explained this to the customer , they rung 
Wordperfect, who promptly call me asking me where on earth I had got that 
idea , as they had NEVER had any reported problems.


	HELP!!!

	Does anyone know if this patch actually exists??

	Any ideas what to do next??

	Would v5.5-1 resolve the problem (the release notes are not very 
helpful at explaining what this fixes??)

    	I think the problem with the WordPerfect symbiont is the same
    	as the OA$FORMATTER problem. These are supposedly fixed in
    	VMS V5.5-1 (see 134.76).

    I have exactly this problem with my customer, is the fix that given in
    NOTE 644.? (ie. deintegrate and reintegrate the queues)  ???

    OK, I've read it now, where does it say that it fixes the 5.5/5.5-1
    job controller problem ?
