1001.0. "Keypak AED puts extra cover letter in when mailed" by WARCRY::MATTHEWS_G (It's not the years, it's the milage.) Tue Jul 07 1992 20:23
I spoke to a DEC person supporting a site using ALL-IN-1 2.4, KEYPAK under
ALL-IN-1, and Wordperfect.
Things work fine.
When a user goes to mail a message with an attached WP document they use the
KEYPAK menu choice AED to 'Attach External Document'.
The result is a text message sent, a cover letter put in by using AED, and the
Wordperfect document attached when this is sent.
The user at the customer end of it notes the extra cover letter that occurs
when using AED. They wish to avoid that extra cover letter.
Before writing this I consulted with ALL-IN-1 Mail specialists, Applications
Programming people, and called KEYWORD about the AED option on the ALL-IN-1
EM menu.
Keyword indicated that the AED option as referencing EM is based on existing
ALL-IN-1 scripts and that it should be fairly standard.
My conclusion is that IF this 'extra' cover letter can be avoided then it
should be a possible by editing/programming the script called by AED.
If writing/editing ALL-IN-1 scripts is not meat and potatoes to the user then
they could get assistance through Atlanta's ALL-IN-1 programming group
assuming they have such a support contract. If not then it sounds like a
contract support matter.
Why did I write all this?
Has anyone else encountered this 'extra cover letter' when using (Keypak's)
AED? If so maybe there is something already written on this.
I have searched the ALL-IN-1 current notes conference, the _24 conference, and
the Keypak conference. There did not appear to be anything similar to this in
any of those places.
So... I cross post this to all those and see if I luck out.
