979.0. "No mention of Res Scheduler in CART" by OKBYUS::LUNDIN () Thu Jul 02 1992 20:44

I am working with a customer who has run the CART prior to doing the
upgrade from version 2.4 to 3.0 of ALL-IN-1. He is very concerned that
there is no mention of modifications that have been made to his current
system by the asset Resource Scheduler. They have had this asset for
over 1 year and use it heavily.

Should he be concerned, or is there some other reasons that changes
made to his ALL-IN-1 2.4 system by Resource Scheduler have not been
    indicated by the CART.

    Thanks

    Sandy

    Sandy,

Are you sure? have you checked the site element report in case resource
scheduler did it's stuff outside CM. If it's in CM then the
modifications will be listed in the Summary report of course.

Your local CSC will be more than willing to help you interpret the CART
reports - heck it's a quiet day here as everyone has left for the long
    weekend. 1-800 etc ...

    regards,

979.2Did it modify ALL-IN-1 elements?CESARE::EIJSAll in 1 PieceFri Jul 03 1992 10:3217

    Sandy,

The Resource Schedular, it's based on TM functionality, but does it
replace standard TM forms, Script, etc. (the fact that it's based on TM
    functionality is an assumption)?

Andrew is right. If the Asset didn't use CM to 'register' the elements,
then CART will not find eny of the elements of this Asset and cannot
give you any information/advise. On the other hand, if it didn't modify
any of the standard ALL-IN-1 elements (OA elements) and the CART report
didn't mention any of the elements to be in conflict, then you're
    safe...

    Ciao,

    Hello ALL-IN-1 world,

I have just been parachuted into an ALL-IN-1/ Resource Scheduler
environment that is planning a 2.4 - v3.0 upgrade. I am interested in
knowing the status of the Resource Scheduler asset with regards to the
ALL-IN-1 3.0 environment. Have compatibility tests been performed ?
Are there issues around the actual upgrade process that I should be
aware of (before going ahead) ? Post upgrade customizations required to
    preserve the asset ?

Andrew - any other words of wisdom, insite, or otherwise general wise
    thoughts ?

I will be looking for information in CLARID::EOASSETS, if anyone has
other suggestions I would be grateful.

    Thanks,
    	Patrick.

    Pat,

I'm not sure I have anything to add to what I said in the earlier reply
though since you've cross-posted your request in the European ASSETS
notes conference you'll have seen the reply by Andy Wood (433.4) that
contains the "official" reply on this.

I assume from your node name that you're in Canada and hence part
of GIA so I imagine you could call the KANATA CSC and see if they
know anything about how your customer may attempt to obtain this ASSET.

    Regards,
