974.0. "AUTOFORWARD IN LOWERCASE" by CSOA1::DAVAULT () Wed Jul 01 1992 21:15

Require Autoforward Field To Be Lowercase

We have a requirement for some addresses to be in lowercase.

The addresses I am referring to are DDN addresses. Some DDN hosts
mail systems are case sensitive and will return a delivery failure
message if the address is not lowercase.

I have corrected the lowercase problem in the "TO:" field when
creating a message by modifying SPECIAL.COM.

I have tried changing the autoforward fields in the form EMAFWD
from uppercase to don't care and have even written the address
to the PROFIL.DAT file in lowercase. The autoforward field will
	display the address in lowercase.

None of this does the trick; the address is still converted to
uppercase by the time it reaches the Wollongong mailer.

	Any help is appreciated.

    Cliff,

What version of ALL-IN-1 and what patches?

All of the lowercase problems were supposed to have been fixed by
    K602.

If you don't have v2.4 and K602 install them.
If you do then let us know how to reproduce it

Thanks for that info Andrew, we're on Version 2.3. I don't know what patch
level. I will contact our system people and try to hurry our upgrade
    to V2.4.

    Cliff.

That'll be it then - remember you need to go to v2.4 and apply the
    patches. v2.4 SSb isn't enough.
