    Yes, you are in the right place, this conference is for the support of
    all versions of ALL-IN-1 (even V1.4 :-) )
    
    If you have V2.4 Finnish as your first language, and you are adding
    English as a second language, then "ALLIN1-UI-ENGLISH" is the correct
    PAK. Perhaps it isn't registered/loaded properly? Maybe it's on some
    other node in the cluster, but not the one you are installing on?
    
    What error message do you get exactly?

    	I have a hunch, but I need the full error message.
    
    	Also, did you LOAD the license? Just REGISTERing the license has
    	no effect - nothing reads the LMF database directly, you need to
    	$ LICENSE LOAD the license too.

	I have used VMSLICENSE to register&load the PAK and confirmed that
	I make this in the same node of the cluster where ALL-IN-1 is 
	installed. I have done quite a lot of sw installations and learned
	to check this kind of errors (by doing them sometimes ;_).

	I have tried several times the installation and had a colleague 
	to test the same before I wrote this note (trying to be sure not 
	to make some "silly" mistake). 
	
	The node belongs to an internal test cluster where I try to 
	analyze a certain customer problem.

	The kit is copied from IOSG::A1$LIB:[A1KITS.A1024]
	I think this is US English and it is tested to co-operate with 
	the Finnish primary language. I checked this from Matti Tauriainen 
	who worked in Finnish LEG when this version was translated. 

	I have tried several different PAK:s, one from the VTX/ISPAK
	(from Geneve VTX PAK-service), one PAK from our Customer Services
	TSP-list, and one from IS (the same they use in another node ?).
	No problem in registering/loading/disabling/enabling these PAK:s
	but no success in installing English second language.

	The authorization numbers for the PAK:s I have tried are:
	
		ATS-IL-91263-2270
		BIX-IL-92181-FNO-65076
		ATS-IL-92133-375


*****	The point of error and error message *****

	When VMSINSTAL is started product name A1024 is given. Then I 
	require option (4) "Installation of an additional language". 
	I give "ENGLISH" for language code and procedure asks:

* Does this product have an authorization key registered and loaded [YES]?

	I answer "YES"	and the following error message is displayed:

%A1LENGLISH-S-NOLICENSE, This product requires a license to install
%A1LENGLISH-S-NOLICENSE, Please refer to the ALL-IN-1 Installation Guide
%A1LENGLISH-E-RETRY1, Please correct any reported problem(s) before attempting
%A1LENGLISH-E-RETRY2, to install ALL-IN-1.
...

	Just like there is not the correct PAK loaded? 


	The situation is really frustrating, time is becoming short,
	the other local people working on ALL-IN-1 are on holiday 
	or have left the company (;-(

    Ok here's the answer (probably!)
    
    The American English second language licence is called:
    
    	ALLIN1-UI-AMERICAN-ENG
    
    The British one is called:
    
    	ALLIN1-UI-ENGLISH

	Hmmm! 

	I opened the A1LENGLISH024.A saveset of the kit I copied from IOSG
	and set verify on in the procedure KILMF.COM to see what happens
	when the license is checked. (I didn't want to read everything,
	this is why I didn't run the install with verify mode on).

	The installation seems to search PAK for ALLIN1-UI-AMERICAN-ENGLISH
	not for ALLIN1-UI-ENGLISH, we agreed to be the right one to use?

	Now my problem is how I can get this kind of "American" PAK?

	I tried Geneve/ISPAK but get error message "Print or Save restricted".
	Trying through Corporate VTX ISPAK it tells directly something like:
	"This PAK is allowed for US area employees only". 

	Suggestions where/how I can get this PAK for Internal use?

    I've tried both the PAK generators, and it won't let me make a PAK
    either!
    
    There's a name of someone for questions in ESSB in the European VTX
    system, perhaps you could mail them and ask?
    
    Or perhaps someone in the US will make one for you?

    Sorry we aren't allowed to send PAKs outside the U.S - when we download
    them from VTXpak it flashes lots of messages that say "transmitting
    this PAK outside DIGITAL OR outside the U.S.A will result in
    termination of contract" or something like that - half the time you
    expect Arnold Schwarzenegger to come around and check on you - and this
    from the land of "have a nice day".
    
    Hannu really needs to find out why the European PAK database is
    broke.

    I've always considered that when I walked into DEC Park in Reading, the
    band struck up "The Star Spangled Banner", and I sat down and logged
    into my system running US English, and hence I *WAS* in the US of A....
    
    Perhaps it's time I went home now :-)

	After I saw "Terminator 2", the common error message in ALL-IN-1
	"Terminator required" got a new meaning (must remember this
	now when I'm translating DIAMOND into Finnish), sometimes I
	really feel I need a T2 to compete with A1 !   ;_} 


	I finally got a proper internal PAK which is purposed to
	testing US English co-operation with Finnish v2.4 
	(just what I'm right now doing - this is legal - please 
	 don't send a T3 to check!) 

	Installation was most easy and comfortable and now I can
	test A1SVC interworking with these to language variants.
                        
	Only one question more:

	What are all those A1-UI-ENGLISH paks I tried to use, are 
	they supplied for BRITISH-ENGLISH v2.4 or for Diamond ENGLISH?
	(I hope you understand my FINNISH-ENGLISH ;-> )

    I think the A1-UI-ENGLISH PAKs must be what you need to add *BRITISH*
    English as a *second* language.
    
    What a mess these names are! I knew I should have renamed the American
    English kit to be American at V2.3 and made the British kit (i.e.
    proper English :-) ) be called English!

    They are not on the european PAK.
    We are trying to install A1LUS030.

    perhaps you could explain what the "European PAK" is?
    
    certainly VTX contains PAKs for ALLIN1-UI and ALLIN1-UI-AMERICAN-ENG
    (the PUI licenses were never implemented outside Japan)

    I presume the author means the European PAK generator on VTX.  This is
    different to the PAK generator on US VTX.  Europeans can't (easily) use
    the US PAK generator as it asks for loads of info, such as a US social
    security number.  Typing in random numbers doesn't seem to work.
    
    Maybe the two systems have different licences on them?  (I'd check,
    except the VTX PAK stuff is unavailable at present.)

    When you get in let me know what ALL-IN-1 licenses are there because
    I thought I checked when I was in 'Europe' (Ok Reading) last month
    that the list was almost the same.

    It is the European PAK generator on VTX. And it is missing license 
    ALLIN1-UI-AMERICAN-ENG.
    
    And without the license, no no no installation of ALL-IN-1 3.0 US.
    But there must be a "hack" to install it anyway.
    I did not check yet if the license is again back on the PAK generator.

    There isn't a very easy hack without a BLISS compiler...
    
    If you open up the kit and change the licence name in OALLV.BLI
    (Language Saveset E) compile it and put in the various object libraries
    in various other savesets, and also change the licence name in
    KILANGUAGE.COM (Language Saveset B) then you might get it to work...
    
    Better to get a licence from somewhere!
