948.1 | Ask the EasyNet Managers? | IOSG::PYE | Graham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's Apprentice | Mon Jun 29 1992 09:40 | 9 |
| I'm pretty sure that the or=ganisation that runs the EasyNet produces
statistics like this, and therefore, they must have a tool that times
message transit times. Perhaps they send special messages between
special accounts and measure those?
Anyway, there's a conference about the EasyNet management, I just can't
remember what it's called....

| YOu can only measure MR to MR times... currently. However, there are
MTS kits which allow these to be done.
I would think that the stats you want should be available from your
local MTS department.

948.4 | Utility for measuring elapsed route time | FAILTE::LAAHS | An accumulation of Celts | Wed Jul 15 1992 11:46 | 17 |
| I recently wrote a utility for a customer that would send a message
between two cooperating nodes constantly and measure the time taken for
a complete cycle. If the time was over a certain threshold then a
VAXMAIL message would be sent to someone indicating that there might be
a problem.
The utility also includes the ability to measure the availability of
ALL-IN-1 (i.e. how long could users actually use ALL-IN-1 last week?)
There is not much documentation but if you look in the command
procedures (main one being MONITOR.COM) the comments should give you a
clue as to how it hangs together.
I'll create a kit in OSPREY::SWAS_DISK:[LAAHS]MONITOR.BCK.
Hope it helps,
Kevin
