944.0. "SDAF references don't exist" by MSBCS::KING (VSS BXB/LTN System Management Group DTN:293-5677) Fri Jun 26 1992 16:04
I'm running ALL-IN-1 V3.0 and VMS 5.4-3. I have a closed shared area that
contains bogus information in the SDAF. How can I correct the information in
OA$DAF_E.DAT? I know for a fact that these files don't exist.
When I run TRM, I get these errors in phase 2
Processing DISK$ALLIN1:[OA$SHARE]OA$DAF_E.DAT file at 09:46 PM
-----------------------------------------------
Error looking for shared area text file OA$SHARE10:ZSZBBBRIO.TXT
error in device name or inappropriate device type for operation
Error looking for shared area text file OA$SHARE148:ZSOOBFWNO.TXT
error in device name or inappropriate device type for operation
Error looking for shared area text file OA$SHARE148:ZSOOBGNRT.TXT
error in device name or inappropriate device type for operation
Later in phase 3, I get this summary for oa$share
Total number of shared documents .......... 312
Total number of missing text files......... 0
Total number of usage counts correct:...... 249
Total number of usage counts incorrect:.... 63
File Cabinet usage counts
greater than actual references:........ 63
File Cabinet usage counts
less than actual references:........... 0
-----------------------------------------------------

The incorrect usage counts represent documents
that the File Cabinet thinks are referenced more
or less times than the actual number of references
found during the verification process.

-----------------------------------------------------
No repairs made to mail area OA$SHARE
-------------------------------------
Thanks,
Bryan

| I'd guess the OA$SHARxnnnn logicals referenced are not set. Best way
out is to define them to some dummy directory until TRM has repaired
them out of existence.
