     Does anyone know how to produce more than 132 characters in landscape on
a document printed from ALL-IN-1 on a HP Laserjet II? I find a STAR article
saying that HP Laserjet II cannot print more than 132. But the customer can
print a lotus file which is more than 132 characters. ALL-IN-1 version is V2.4.
How width can ALL-IN-1 print?

What type of document are you trying to print, because this will determine
what formatting is performed during the print operation. 

ALL-IN-1 itself does not impose any restrictions on the width of printing.
The applications, formatters, etc. which create the listing files may 
impose a width limit.  The attributes of queues, print forms and terminal
device characteristics could also impose a width limit.

         The document type is WPS-Plus. Does the user need HP printer
    table? What is the maximum no. of characters can be printed?

1.  What version of WPS-PLUS is being used?  If the ALL-IN-1 system is V2.4 
    then WPS-PLUS will be either V3.1 or V4.0 if the update has been
    installed. 

2.  What WPS-PLUS printer table are you using?

    A WPS-PLUS printer table for the HP printer will allow you to use more 
    of the printer's facilities.  However, simple tables such as the LP11
    are useable on many types of printer but with the loss of some 
    attributes.

3.  Are lines longer than 132 characters being truncated or wrapped?

4.  Have you examined the listing files produced by the WPS-PLUS formatter 
    to see if the lines are being truncated or wrapped during formatting or
    printing?

    If the answer to Richard's question #4 is yes, and the lines are being
    truncated, then the usual culprit is that the maximum number of
    characters on a line for the pitch you are using is 132.  You just have
    to edit the table and change the values for all pitches to 500 or as
    high as you might ever want.  Apparently when printer tables were
    originally being designed, printers were mostly of the impact variety. 
    With laser printers, it is not useful to truncate the lines.
    
    At least until V3 or ALL-IN-1, HP printer tables were not shipped with
    WPS-PLUS or ALL-IN-1.  So it is difficult to tell what yours looks
    like.
    
    You should really ask in the WPS-PLUS conference.
